What is a lumen? How is it different from Watt?
Definition of lumen: “A unit of luminous flux, in the International System of Units, equal to the amount of light emitted by a source with a density of one candela radiating evenly in all directions”
In short, lumens equals brightness. Not that watts are meaningless in design, but they do measure energy use, not light output. And with the new generation of energy-efficient LED technology, wattage doesn’t make much sense.
